How do I structure the thesis?

Once you have completed a good portion of your research, you can begin my paper writer structuring, or writing, the thesis. Depending on the type of thesis you are writing, the structure may vary, but in general it will consist of the following sections:
  • The topic proposal that you submitted for approval before you started the extensive research.
  • The title, which is both informative and to the point, and will generate interest in the target audience
  • Acknowledgements (not obligatory but common)
  • An abstract that serves as a brief and concise overview of all the important elements of your paper to provide the reader with a general idea of your work
  • A table of contents that lists all chapters and subchapters by number of pages.
  • A list of figures and tables (usually only if there are more than five figures or tables).
  • A list of abbreviations to help the reader familiarize him/herself with any terms that may appear
  • An introduction that is concise and answers the following questions, "What am I discussing? How will I discuss it and why?"
  • The literature analysis, which has already been covered in point #3 above
  • The results of your analysis that ultimately brings you to a conclusion.
  • A conclusion that ties in all the important points again. This never includes new information not included in the paper.
  • Any additional sections, such as the references.

Additional tips
  • If you have the opportunity to choose your advisor, make sure the is clarified in advance. A competent advisor will be able to provide you with the professional support you need during this process. Clarify from the beginning how the collaboration is planned (e.g. how the communication/supervision will be or how many drafts you intend to submit or how often it is desired by the supervisor).
  • Take advantage of other feedback opportunities offered to you, such as from fellow students, etc. In most cases, a fresh perspective will help you navigate writer's block, inconsistencies, or other fallacies in your work.
